**danzell: Head of Over-Engineering**

* * *

Hi fam! I’m danzell, a 37-year-old ML Engineer from Frankfurt Germany.
If you check my Numerai profile, it says “Joined 10 years ago” (OG status confirmed).
While I grew up on Kaggle, I’ve spent the last decade perfecting the art of over-engineering neural networks for the numerai classic tournament.

If there’s a way to point a massive neural cannon at a tiny feature-subset-bird, I’ve probably found it.

You might know me from Discord for:

- Transparency: Regularly sharing my [validation metrics and model scores.](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1125461509028458608/1407422216332902441/image.png?ex=69f04b55&is=69eef9d5&hm=092541d399438c40187abae0d3c174f35c8dd4d2f27bd369230a91b7acd0479f&=&format=webp&quality=lossless)

- Contribution: Open-sourcing the [Intraround Candle App](https://huggingface.co/spaces/dnzll/shiny-numerati-intraround) and sharing [research ideas.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaKJOA4Fo_Q)

- Vigilance: [Reporting bugs.](https://discord.com/channels/894652647515226152/1461106671714701393/1461106671714701393) and swinging the Iron Hammer on scammers.

- [The Vibe: Providing 24/7 NMR hopium.](https://media.discordapp.net/attachments/1089659992489074889/1406223814022397952/IMG_5415.jpg?ex=69f08c7b&is=69ef3afb&hm=7ec815e827fb9642acb43d8493f3bb4c7a9097092eebd46f285f3120d4af900e&=&format=webp&width=640&height=853)

- [Philanthropy: I take pride in being a deflationary force.](https://i.imgur.com/mIvZ2Ke.png) Every NMR I’ve burned has paved the way for your gains. I’m not losing; I’m just helping the rest of the fam earn more.

Why me for the Council?

I am both a builder and an advocate. I love talking about Numerai and have represented the tournament as a speaker at events like [Big Data AI World](https://i.imgur.com/aCmFggE.jpeg) and our local [Frankfurt Numerai Meetups](https://i.imgur.com/PgjF17P.jpeg).

As an Elder, I plan to:

- Be a Community Conduit: Always keep an ear on Discord to bridge the gap between users and the team.

- Continue the Open-Source Ethos: Share stuff like apps and technical insights to help everyone level up.

- Spread the Word: Keep promoting the tournament locally and globally.

Make NMR great again! 🚀
