Sometimes, I would like to compare models that have started at different time periods, or I’ve replaced a slot with a new model. Therefore, it would be necessary to select the beginning era for the comparison.

Yeah, this has been requested before.
Not sure if they intend to implement it any time soon, but you can consider using alternative dashboards, like Shiny Numerati and YAND.
